Derrick L. Branson serves as Head of School at Guardian Christian Academy, bringing together faith, leadership, and a deep love for students. A proud Midwesterner and U.S. Army veteran, he honorably served for 26 years with multiple overseas deployments, developing a leadership style rooted in discipline, excellence, and servant-hearted care.

A lifelong learner, Mr. Branson holds multiple degrees, including an MBA and a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Before becoming Head of School, he served GCA in nearly every capacity — volunteer, SALT Team member, substitute, and classroom teacher — earning a reputation for high expectations, strong relationships, and an infectious love for learning.

Affectionately known as “the biggest kid on campus,” Mr. Branson is a certified extrovert who believes leadership starts with connection. His motto is simple: “There is no leadership without relationship, and it all starts with me.”

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Branson is first and foremost a follower of Christ. Guided by his faith and inspired by Psalm 91, he leads Guardian Christian Academy with clarity, conviction, and joy — committed to partnering with families to help students walk confidently in their God-given purpose.
