CLINICAL
The GCA Clinic provides care for Elementary and Secondary school students during school hours. Our school nurse Christi Newman, RN, and trained clinic staff will triage every student to assess their medical needs and communicate all significant findings with parents/guardians.
If a student becomes ill or sustains an injury during school hours, they will be evaluated by GCA Clinic staff. Parents will be contacted to be made aware of the student’s clinical status, as well as to assist in decisions regarding medical treatment. Please be prompt when you have been contacted to pick up your injured or ill child.
In cases where acute medical emergencies arise, the standard of care regarding the activation of the EMS system will be employed. All emergency contact information should be submitted and kept up to date in the Family Portal. Please inform the school nurse of any changes during the school year. It is very important to list all available phone numbers and emergency contacts so that parents can be reached promptly in the event of any medical situation.
